This self lubricated gasket system can be designed for a variety of pipe types and pipe joint.  This style of gasket has been successfully used for years in corrugated HDPE pipe watertight applications.  As seen in the figure (right), the gasket is comprised of three primary components:

(1) 50 durometer sealing surface,

(2) self lubricant film layer and

(3) 70 durometer section to maintain gasket position. 

This unique tri-extrusion process is very cost effective and will exceed the performance criteria of traditional gaskets.

In addition to the excellent gasket properties, Advanced Pipe Products can design your gasket, conduct ASTM D 3212 testing and provide certification, signed by a registered professional engineer after the joint system testing is complete.

APS has developed a pipe joint design calculator which takes into account the  viscoelastic behavior of the bell, spigot, and gasket material.  This design calculator is highly accurate and is useful in trouble shooting or perfecting pipe joint designs.
